Our Leadership

Claire Brown, M.D.

Ms. Brown founded the General Partner in 2008 and is its Principal Member and Controlling Person. She received a B.A. in biological sciences from the College of the University of Chicago in 1996, and an M.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine in 2001. Prior to founding the General Partner in 2008, she served as an active duty officer in the U.S. Air Force medical corps for seven years, most recently as an Associate Clerkship Director for the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, where she received a Distinguished Service Medal.

Claire began investing in equities at age 11. During medical school, she was co-founder of MarketBeacon, Inc., a Kentucky Registered Investment Adviser and a CFTC-registered Commodity Trading Advisor. Her background in science and mathematics includes a data analysis event championship at the National Science Olympiad, a National Beta Club Science Contest championship, a College Honor Scholarship at the University of Chicago, and the Society of Air Force Physicians 2004 Arthur F. Grollman research award.

Daniel Nall, CFA

Mr. Nall is a Principal and Portfolio Manager of the General Partner. He joined the firm in June 2013. Daniel earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a B.S. in Mathematical Economics in 2013 from University of Kentucky, where he co-founded the University’s investment club and was the portfolio manager for the finance department’s student-led, value investment fund. He grew up in Louisville, Kentucky, where he was in the top 2% of his graduating class at St. Xavier High School. He earned his CFA designation in 2017.

Daniel started with Aristides as an Associate for Operations and Research, and he has held various responsibilities on the investment side and on the operations side of the firm. He oversees the firm’s operations and compliance programs as well as leads many of the quantitative research projects for the firm. His daily responsibilities also include managing many of the anomaly and arbitrage trades in the portfolio.
